spring seed planting
on saturday it slowly became a glorious blue sky and beaming sunshiney day…with the help of the Crown Heights Farm Share volunteers, we were able to get the spring vegetable seeds into their cozy beds.  we planted things such as different varieties of lettuce, spinach, carrots, arugula, sugar snap peas and the like…) take a gander at the preceding pictures if you like) i spearheaded...

the beds are ready...
this weekend in brooklyn was gloriously sunny and we took advantage of the weather on saturday.  with a crew of about 10 volunteers, (Crown Heights Farm Share folks), we dug our hands into the soil and mixed in composted manure and peat to prepare for planting.  the soil looks great and seems to have survived the winter remaining healthy.  we only aerated the top few inches to preserve the soil...

washed out...
okay, so we were rained out last saturday, (raining and 44 degrees), but we will continue to fight the good fight this saturday from like 11am till 4pm…it is supposed to be beautiful and sunny. we are going to dig our hands into the loamy soil and supplement and aerate the soil in each of the trays, (a dirty job, but someone’s got to do it)…and just prep everything for planting...
